The Laboratory for Sound is a newly formed resource for students interested in Sound Art, Installation, Musical Sound, Radio and Intermedia Art with a sound component. The Laboratory will also be a resource for those interested in researching the theory and physics of sound as well as sound technologies.

Jenny Gräf SheppardAssociate Professor, Laboratory for Sound
Jenny Gräf Sheppard (b. 1970) received her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. An interdisciplinary artist, Sheppard’s work includes projects that explore sound in relation to memory and agency, including collaborative projects with people with Alzheimer’s, highly participatory sound works, and musical sound performances. Her research includes sound’s impact on the body, cognition and the natural world. Sheppard has been performing works throughout Europe, Canada and the United States as well as serving as a curator of sound and music festivals.
