The Laboratory for Video offers a range of classes while also providing a workshop setting where students can experiment and produce their own works. The Laboratory regularly hosts courses and workshops on video and sound production, where hands-on work is supplemented by studies of the basic principles for visual continuity and narratives based on moving pictures.

Much of the teaching takes the form of individual tutorials based on each student’s own projects. The students’ productions are edited on digital equipment provided by the school. Students can borrow cameras and audio equipment from the Laboratory.

The editing facilities comprise three editing suites based on Final Cut Studio software as well as a sound studio where students can mix video and sound works, record voiceovers etc. The Laboratory also offers a video studio with lighting equipment.
