Admission to the BFA program

In 2011, the Schools of Visual Arts introduces academic regulations for Masters of Fine Art (MFA) which together with the Academic regulations for Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) will make up the 6 years education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

In order to apply for admissions to the BFA program at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Schools of Visual Arts you will have to:

• Register as an applicant
• Pay an application fee of DKK 500.00
• Fill in an application form
• Hand in a fixed number of art works for evaluation.

It is OPTIONAL whether you want to appear in person and hand in your physical art works OR you want to upload your art works digitally through the internet.

Irrespective of the way the art works are handed in, all applicants must register and fill in an application form online.

Admission to the MFA Program

In order to apply for the MFA program at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Schools of Visual Arts , you need submit documentation to show you have completed the BFA program at the schools of Visual arts or at another artistic education institution. Furthermore you must hand in a portfolio of work and an artist statement that reflects your artistic practice and interests.

All applicants must

• Register as an applicant
• Pay an application fee of DKK 500.00
• Fill in an application form
• Hand in an artist statement (app. 1 page in English)
• Hand in a fixed number of art works for evaluation.

The MFA admission procedure is entirely digital, it is not possible to hand in physical works for the MFA evaluation.
